LOGIS’ 18 cities live on CIS Infinity

CIS Infinity offers flexibility, functionality and an easy-to-use interface

Providing a strategy to implement a CIS solution for 18 cities, in partnership with Local Government Information Systems Association (LOGIS) presented a unique challenge to Advanced Utility Systems Corporation (Advanced). However as a result of working closely with the team at LOGIS, Advanced was able to address this challenge and successfully bring all 18 cities live on-time and on-budget.

Part of the success came from Advanced committing to an aggressive schedule from the start. Implementation began in November 2004 with the first three cities going live in June 2005. The eighteenth and final city went live February 2008. With each implementation, the LOGIS staff grew more familiar with the process which helped ensure that each city went live on schedule. Furthermore, Advanced was able to streamline the implementation process with each consecutive project which also aided in the timeliness of the implementations.

As a group, the 18 member cities of LOGIS provide water service to 663,000 accounts and deliver approximately 2,000,000 bills each year. However, each one of the cities is unique in their billed services, rate structure, and collections. As Steven Hammond, Executive Vice President of Advanced notes, “We were excited to take on this opportunity as it was a chance to further highlight and demonstrate how flexible and easily configurable CIS Infinity is.”

With their new customer information and billing system, the LOGIS cities are now able to provide their users with comprehensive functionality and an easy-to-use interface. Although, LOGIS’ legacy system had served the cities well in the past, CIS Infinity offers functionality that fully handles all business requirements and often times provides enhanced capabilities. Also, CIS Infinity is designed to be user friendly. All information associated with a customer is available on a single, easy to read window. This allows the users to be more effective and efficient in their day-to-day responsibilities.

Advanced is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Harris Computer Systems that provides Customer Information and Billing solutions exclusively to utilities and municipalities.

LOGIS is a not-for-profit consortium of Minnesota government entities in the Minneapolis - St. Paul area. It provides management information systems, support and related services to its members, essentially acting as a shared information technology department.
