City of Sioux Falls selects Advanced Utility Systems
Sioux Falls, SD and Toronto, Canada. February 9, 2009
Harris Computer Systems ("Harris”) is excited to announce that the City of Sioux Falls, South Dakota has selected Advanced Utility Systems’ CIS Infinity to replace its legacy customer information and billing (CIS) solution.
As the county seat of Minnehaha County, the City of Sioux Falls is located in the southeast corner of South Dakota and is the largest city in the state with a population of 154,000. The City covers an area of approximately 67 square miles and is the primary city of the Sioux Falls-Sioux City Designated Market Area (DMA), a larger media market region that covers parts of four states and has a population of over 1 million.
The City owns and operates its own water and sanitary sewer systems as well as an electrical system, with each division being part of the Public Works Department. The City currently bills approximately 46,500 water and sewer customers and 2,100 electric customers monthly.
In May of 2008, Sioux Falls began a review of vendor proposals and demonstrations to replace its current legacy billing system. As Utility Billing and Metering Manager, Perry Eckhoff, commented, “We were searching for software that could expand our functionality and meet our integration requirements. Based on a number of demonstrations, reference calls, and discussions with Advanced, we felt that CIS Infinity will meet our needs now and over the long term.”
Together over the holidays, Advanced and the City negotiated contract terms and are excited to kick-off the project. “It has been a great experience working with the City through the contract phase. Sioux Falls is now our second customer in the state and we look forward to a successful and long-lasting partnership with the City.” commented Peter Fanous, Vice President of Sales.
The City of Sioux Falls will begin implementation this month.
