Cayenta Expands U.S. Presence in Alabama

Cayenta, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Harris Computer Systems (Harris), is pleased to announce that Southeast Alabama Gas District (SEAGD) in Andalusia, Alabama has signed with Cayenta to implement an ERP solution comprising Cayenta Financials, Cayenta Operations and Cayenta Utilities.

The Southeast Alabama Gas District (SEAGD) is a public corporation created on January 29, 1952, under Act Number 762, General Laws of Alabama. It was established to provide natural gas service to domestic, commercial and industrial customers located in 33 communities in the southeast portion of the state. A transmission system 616 miles in length and a distribution system consisting of 1415 miles make up SEAGD, which reaches 16 counties in the southeast quadrant of the state and currently provides services to 30,000 customers.

To provide an overall solution, Cayenta will employ its proven implementation methodology to provide SEAGD with a full scope of functionality through Cayenta Version 7.5. “The goals of Cayenta Version 7.5 are to deliver superior business solutions to our customers through the enhancement and automation of functions within the Cayenta ERP solution” noted Brad Atchison, General Manager for Harris’ Cayenta Business Unit.

The implementation of our Cayenta Financials, Operations and Utilities at SEAGD reflects the strength of our Cayenta suite and our continued efforts within the United States. The project kick-off was in February 2009.
