NorthStar continues expansion in the State of Washington with selection by Douglas County PUD

NorthStar Utilities Solutions, a division of Harris Computer Systems, announced today that Douglas County Public Utility District No. 1, located in East Wenatchee, WA, has chosen NorthStar CIS for providing it's customers superior customer relations management and utility billing. The Douglas County PUD CIS project implementation includes NorthStar CIS, eCARE Customer Portal, eBilling, Executive Information System, eDocs and Reports Anywhere.

Douglas County PUD, is located in East Wenatchee, WA, in the north-central region of the state. The PUD provides its 18,000 customers with electric service, primarily generated from the PUD's Wells Hydroelectric Project. Wells has become the model for providing clean, efficient and reliable hydroelectric power in the northwest. This project boasts the most effective juvenile fish by-pass on the Columbia River and its operation funds several salmon and steelhead hatcheries. These days, power from Wells is amongst the most cost competitive in the nation, making the area attractive for new "high consumption" industry such as Data Centers.

Douglas County PUD also owns and operates a High Speed Broadband Network, called the Douglas County Community Network (DCCN), which allows customers in rural parts of the county to connect to Broadband Internet through several different local providers.
