Harris NorthStar CIS Selected by Grand Junction, CO

The NorthStar division (Harris NorthStar) of Harris Computer Systems (Harris) is pleased to announce today that the Water Services Department of the City of Grand Junction, CO has chosen NorthStar CIS as its utility billing solution. Harris provides utilities, schools and municipal governments with market-leading software solutions.

Grand Junction’s Water Services Department is responsible for maintaining 140 miles of distribution piping, 9500 metered water customers, 1300 valves and 800 fire hydrants as well as the installation of new water and sewer lines. The wastewater treatment plant processes roughly 7.97 million gallons of water per day and has a total capacity of 12.5 million gallons per day. Over the course of a year, the plant can treat 2.91 billion gallons of wastewater.

The City of Grand Junction is located in Mesa County, Colorado on the western slope of the Rockies, midway between Denver, Colorado and Salt Lake City, Utah. It is the County Seat and is the largest city on the western slope of the Rockies with a population of approximately 48,000 people. The City provides services for Water, Sewer, Refuse, and Irrigation.
